At the next general election, we have a once in a generation opportunity to elect a Labour MP in Tatton.
We need a candidate with experience defeating the Conservatives in areas they have never lost before, a strong track record of delivering for residents, and deep local knowledge and connections. I am that candidate.
The people of Tatton have been let down by this Conservative government. All of us, from all walks of life, are feeling the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis. NHS waiting times are at record highs, and even local Tatton GPs can’t get ambulances to take patients to hospital. Our beautiful natural environment is at risk from destructive Conservative policies, our rivers are being pumped full of sewage, and our energy bills are higher than ever before. Our local councils in Tatton are at breaking point, starved of funding by a government that refuses to take responsibility.
Meanwhile, our MP, Esther McVey, isn’t doing enough. She has voted repeatedly against the interests of her constituents in Tatton and the rest of the UK. She is more interested in re-building her media career than re-building Britain, and would rather pretend to fight for “common sense” in the House of Commons than fight for the people of Tatton.
There has never been a better opportunity for Labour to win in Tatton. The polls show that this time, in 2024, we can beat the odds and turn Tatton red – but only if we have the right candidate, with the right skills and experience, to win for Labour.
I have made history before, defeating the Conservatives in areas they thought they could never lose. I have fought and delivered for residents when in power as a councillor. I have improved people’s everyday lives and accelerated action to fight the climate crisis. I promise to do all of this, and more, to fight for the areas around where I grew up, in Tatton.
It is only with your support that we can achieve a historic victory at the next general election. We have a monumental fight on our hands – but it’ll be worth it when we deliver a Labour government, and a Labour MP here, in Tatton, for the first ever time. A full-time MP that will fight for our local communities, high streets and natural environment, and ensure we fix our broken public services.
In 1997, Tatton voted out a failing Conservative MP, and the country voted out a failing Conservative government. This time, in 2024, let’s get Tatton a Labour MP too.
Together let’s turn Tatton red.
Tatton has been let down by a series of Conservative MPs more interested in furthering their own careers than supporting us. From Neil Hamilton’s sleaze and George Osbourne’s out-of-touch austerity to Esther McVey’s “common sense” GB News career, none of them have worked for Tatton. They failed us; it’s time for a Labour MP and Labour government.
There will be no second jobs, no working as a news presenter and then moonlighting as an MP. Public service is all that matters.
I will hold regular surgeries and be visible in the community, unlike the MPs that have come before me in Tatton.
I will be held accountable for my decisions, and always act with the utmost integrity in my role as a public servant.
I will work every day to fight for the rights of all the residents of Tatton, from all backgrounds and whichever party they support, if I am lucky enough to be elected.
As your national representative, I will fight non-stop to fix the country, broken after 14 years of damaging Conservative governments.
